Top Holiday Gifts

Still need to get a gift for the athlete in your life? Below are my recommendations for the hottest treats of the season. These are practical gifts that most any athlete would be excited to receive!

4. Everyone knows it can be one of the biggest challenges of a good run – where is the water?! Orange Mud more than answers that question. My favorite item is the HydraQuiver Single Barrel. The double barrel would be an excellent choice as well, but where I live, there are water fountains where I can fill up a bottle, I just need to have water between fountains. The HydraQuiver Single Barrel does not move; it fits perfectly between the shoulder blades and stays put. It has easy to access mini velcro pouches, perfect for gels, Fizz, Endurolytes, and other nutrition. It also has a zipper pocket for a phone and keys. I used my HydraQuiver at Ironman 70.3 Augusta and Ironman Florida this year. It was amazing!

3. We all gain some weight over the holiday season with goodies like pastries and hot chocolate. Nutrition advice or a nutrition class will help start off the new year right. The Athlete’s Palate can get you started on the right foot with great advice and tips, and offer a full nutritional review. I also highly recommend the Break Up With Sugar program, taught by one of my favorite people. This course revolutionized my life. If nothing else, check out Sara’s book about lowering sugar in your daily life and try some of her tasty recipes!

2. Everyone needs motivation. Carrying mine with me on my wrist or on my shoe is a great reminder to “find joy in the journey,” “strong is the new beautiful,” and to “just breathe”! Momentum Jewelry offers bands, key rings, sparklets (who wouldn’t want something that sparkles?!), necklaces, and much more! You can even have your gift item specially made with a unique saying.

1. Finally, one of my favorite items – Zagg wireless earbuds to listen to my tunes while running, on the train, walking the dog, everywhere! This means my phone can be in my pocket or in my backpack, and I can be listening or talking on the phone without any dangling cords. The downside is they have to be charged, so maybe get two pairs!

Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season and many Personal Records in racing in 2018!
